Maria João Rodrigues, minister of employment in the first government of PM Antonio Guterres, is a politician with a long history in all European institutions: EU presidencies, European Council, Council of Ministers, European Commission and, more recently, European Parliament. She is currently President of the European Foundation for Progressive Studies (FEPS), elected by the national foundations of various European countries. Between 2014 and 2019, she was a member of the European Parliament and Vice-President of the S&D Group, the second most important in the EP, responsible for general coordination and interface with other EU institutions. She played a relevant role in several European Initiatives.
